Art of the Collage

"Collage is a form of art that involves combining different materials to create a new image or design. The term collage comes from the French word "coller," which means "to glue". This art form can include a variety of techniques such as mixed media, assemblage, montage, and cut and paste. Collage can be made up of overlapping pieces of material, such as photographs, fabric, coloured and textured paper and other types of mixed media. The process focuses on the act of selecting materials and cutting them into the desired shape, before arranging them and pasting them onto the chosen surface."
